We were delighted to welcome Aspire Social Work Services to deliver training to Amicus recently. We value the importance face to face training, and this was a great opportunity to bring our staff team and foster carers together to have refresher training around safeguarding and then looking at some of the more contemporary areas of risk for example county lines, online safety, and transitional safeguarding.
The concept of transitional safeguarding which is defined as “An approach to safeguarding adolescents and young adults fluidly across developmental stages which builds on the best available evidence, learns from both children’s and adults safeguarding practice and which prepares young people for their adult lives”, focusses on safeguarding young people from adolescent into adulthood, recognising this period of transition will be experienced differently by young people at different times.
