We are a Foster Care Agency in Bristol

The ethos of Amicus is to work collaboratively with foster carers, children and young people, placing authorities, health, education and other professionals, and birth families to secure the best outcomes for the children in our care.

Amicus Foster Care is an ‘Ofsted Outstanding’, independent fostering agency set up in 2009 to support foster carers to care for Children and Young People who are looked after by Local Authorities. The agency is small, friendly, and responsive.

Nas Ahmed, our founder and director, wanted to create a fostering agency, that was meaningful with services that reached right to the heart of children and young people. Her fundamental belief has never changed. “EVERY CHILD SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPERIENCE A CHILDHOOD IN A FAMILY SETTING”

Amicus Foster Care is forward thinking, we stepped outside the box, and developed bespoke services, knowing one shoe does not fit all: Keeping children at the centre and working with (PACE) Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy. Amicus is inclusive, diverse, respecting and values all involved. None of this could be achieved without the wonderful Amicus team and our fantastic foster carers. Fostering is a vocation; Amicus carers go the extra mile, they say “We can, We will, We have” instigated positive change in a child’s journey.”
